Editing my Video camera footage and making DVDs

It has been a while since i have posted. This year has found me busy with all sorts of things apart from my trips away.

What has taken up most of my time is making movies from all the shots i have taken over the years on my camcorder and making slide shows from my digital camera images.

I have been editing my own footage from my camcorder and making DVDs The best things about editing is being able to take a holiday, or event and condense it down into a short, sharp, snappy couple of minutes.

It is very time consuming and It has not been easy. I still have a lot to learn but i have managed to get all my old stuff on Dvds successfully. I have titles,chapters and when needed, special effects. There are menu's, overlays and background music with still images.

I wish i could share them with you (to show off!!) but i need a website to host such big files. I know You tube will host 2mg of video which i think is AVI format, possibly one and a half minutes.

I have been using Ulead video studio 11 and cyberlink power director 6 which i would recommend

My intention is to shoot some footage in Turkey of myself and my adventures and try to put it on You tube in pieces or such similar hosting (maybe someone can help out here). Wouldn't it be great for you to see me in the flesh so to speak (then again..maybe not.l ol)

I will be off to Turkey on Tuesday for 3 weeks and i know you probably think "does that women ever stay at home" I know that i have to start and slow down on the travels, perhaps this will be the last time this year. Money does not go on forever does it and my husband seriously wants to retire.

Any suggestions, help, advice would be appreciated regarding home video making whilst i am away.

Actually i am enjoying it while i can because when hubby retires next year we will have to economise and my trips will be less

maybe twice a year a couple of months at a time.
Whats the point of having your own place in another country and not spending as much time as you can.
You can come anytime

I've been putting together scrapbooks for my kids and grandkids; and it is very time consuming. I've been taking old photos, scanning them onto the computer, editing them, putting them on backgrounds, framing, journaling, and printing them (so the original photos are still left intact)and putting these into 12x12 albums. I also am putting them all onto dvd's and cd's for them. What a project...but I'm sure it's worth it and will be greatly appreciated by those who will be receiving them when the time comes.

So yes, I have a feel for what you are doing. Although I don't think my project's as intense as yours. Best of luck ~ I know you'll accomplish this!!
